Restoration- Final Chapter

Romans 8:1, 9,10,23, Revelation 20:10-15, 21:1-7, 22:1-21

Warm Up:  At Easter we celebrated the pinnacle of God’s Story of love towards His people.  However, that’s not the final chapter… there is still a glorious future ahead when God will restore all things to Himself.

Read Revelation 21:1-5 & 22-1-4, Acts 3:21, II Corinthians 5:17

Pick a couple of the following questions and discuss among your group.

  • Do you find yourself worrying or becoming stressed out when thinking about the future?  What events tend to bring these emotions out?
  • Do you look forward to being in Heaven?  How often do you think of heaven?
  • What do you think heaven will look like?   What will be there?  What won’t be there?

We were asked on Sunday –“Where are we in God’s story now” and that we should take inventory of our lives!   Pastor George encouraged us to spend time in Romans 8 meditating and mining the various veins of truth in this wonderful chapter.

Read Romans 8:1, 9-10, 14-16, 23-24

  • Where are you in your relationship with God?
  • Do you sense God’s presence in you?
  • Does your heart naturally praise God? ABBA FATHER!

What are the benefits or why is it better to have the Spirit inside us vs. Jesus beside us?

Wrap Up:  Pastor George at the end of his message spoke on the issue of idols in our lives.  John Calvin said, “Man's nature, so to speak, is a perpetual factory of idols.”  We need to ask ourselves-- Are there things in our lives today that we are placing more importance on than God?   God is the Hero in this Epic Love story and He is on the throne.   Spend some time in prayer asking the Holy Spirit to reveal areas in our lives where we have replaced God with ourselves.  Ask God to replace those things with Himself!
