Missions Prayer Gathering: Sunday May 23, Between 1st & 2nd Services (Around 9:45am)

Join us between services around the back of the building to pray over missions-related topics in a group setting. Last month was a really powerful time and this month is sure to be the same! Scripture says we can move mountains with our prayers, and we are hopeful to do just that!

What an incredible gift it is being part of a family! Many families going through tough seasons don't have family to lean on. What an incredible opportunity to share our blessing with others! Join us for lunch after church on Sunday, May 16 as we hear from Shoreline families who have said yes to opening up their homes temporarily to kids in crisis through the Safe Families program. Saturday May 15, Checkin At 8:15am. Walk Starts at 9:00am at The Outlets

Here's a chance to do something tangible in the stand against abortion! The Pregnancy Resource Center's annual Walk for Life is coming up on Saturday, May 15 at the Outlets here in San Clemente. Making plans to walk and getting a few sponsorships will go a long way in helping to provide hope and healing to women in crisis pregnancies and offer them alternatives to abortion. We’re partnering with the Red Cross again to help save lives through giving blood. The need for blood is constant, and each unit donated can help save up to three lives! Simply visit www.redcrossblood.org and use the code “Shoreline” to make your appointment. We’re also looking for volunteers to help check people in and make them feel welcome. If you can help for a 2-hour shift, please contact Brad deMarquette.

Sunday, January 17 is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Our friends from the Pregnancy Resource Center will have baby bottles available this Sunday for you to grab and fill with loose change, cash or checks. Your family can have a direct impact in helping to save the lives of unborn children by getting donations and returning full bottles directly to the PRC by February 21. Donations provide free counseling, limited first trimester ultrasounds, parenting classes, maternity and baby clothes, abstinence education, men’s ministry, and post-abortion Bible studies to our community. There are volunteer opportunities as well!

For our holiday outreach efforts this year, we will be running a Christmas Store to help provide for people in need here in our community. This unique shopping experience will help to restore dignity to those who might not have the luxury of celebrating Christmas with gifts. We will need an army of helpers to pull it off, so jump in by volunteering for a time slot, and get ready to shine Jesus' light to people in need this Christmas!

Family Surf + Serve

Saturday, August 15 from 9:00am-12:30pm

Come celebrate the end of summer with us! The Shoreline Church and Christian Surfers will be partnering together as we push kids into waves, play games on the sand, clean up the beach and trail, and enjoy lunch together. We'll share a mini message about Jesus and even raffle off a couple of surfboards at the end. Bring some friends and come hang out!

Schedule:

9:00am-10:30am Coffee, donuts, beach and trail cleanup

10:30am-11:30am Surfing, boogie boarding, sand games

11:30am-12:30pm Lunch, message, raffle

After 12:30pm Hang out longer if you're so inclined

Coffee, donuts, snacks, water, and burritos will be provided
Bring: beach stuff, money for raffle tickets ($5 per ticket will help fund Christian Surfers merch and the church's care fund)
Location: The Hole (just south of T-Street near the restrooms and train track crossing -- look for the EZ-Ups)

There's something special about tending to land -- the perfect analogy for what God does in our lives: pruning, watering, causing us to grow. Join a team of Shoreliners and others as we weed, prune, and harvest beautiful organic produce each week. Get into conversation as you work alongside others, or pop in some headphones and stream worship music while you work. Experience the joy of working with your hands, seeing immediate results, and fellowshipping with others.

This is a great way to have a global impact while remaining local, as the produce grown on the Lighthouse land gets sold and helps fund a discipleship program for men in recovery and missions projects worldwide!

It's a great opportunity for those with kids because there is lots of space to run around, and an amazing tree house where kids can play when they are not helping.

Bring sunscreen, water, and some gloves. All other tools will be provided. No prior gardening experience required.

Our next local serve day is coming up! Grab your family or life group and spend half a day serving others the way Jesus would. This time around, we will be serving our city's homeless, and sheltered women with kids. We'll build relationships as we bring tangible help and encouragement to folks who are living in a tough season. It's a great day to live into your faith and to practice compassion and empathy by participating in good works alongside others in your church family. Come learn more about how to support foster and adoptive families at The Shoreline! We are in the process of forming Care Communities to surround foster families with support, and this is a great way to address the foster care crisis in Orange County as your family serves families that are caring for vulnerable kids. If you have a couple of hours each month to bring a meal or help with childcare, come and learn more! If you are an approved foster family, we'd love to talk more about providing you w/ a team of caring people to help.

We know that God wants to save people from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation, but do we realize that He has given us prayer as a tool for advancing the mission of the church against evil and unbelief? It is critical that we pray together to keep our hearts focused on the mission, and to keep the Kingdom advancing into enemy territory. Join us once a month to pray for missions-related things, for missions partners we support, and for the gospel to continue advancing into the world.

We’re heading to Indonesia this summer to bring encouragement to the long-term ministry workers there. We’ll meet local Balinese people and get a close up view of the ministry going on there, and there’s an optional side trip to a nearby island with some more gospel work going on (as well as world class waves). If you want to learn more, come join us for the info meeting and gain a vision for what God is doing across the world! Trip dates will take shape as we look at schedules of those wanting to go.

The Red Cross provides about 40% of our nation’s blood and blood components, so we are partnering with them to help save lives and care for others in this important way. Join us in an effort to increase the supply to meet the demand.
